A couple of gravid Easterns (and updates )

The litter from the yellow female has sloughed. I grabbed a few quick pics of some of them this evening.

These guys are out of the yellow female, I've lost count how many sloughs they have had now (3 or 4). Some pics from today, the rest of their litter mates are still on slough.

The best part is that I have them all living together and there has been no fighting . A 200litre tub with 6 inches of sugar cane mulch in the bottom plus plenty of tucker and some good hides seems to be keeping the peace so far.

I have 5 in one tub in the rack and I have one with a white face that is causing trouble at 3 days old.

I have a group of 12 kunnanurra/prince regents together it a tiny cage since november,zero issues so far

Have u guys sussed out the trouble makers and the victoms sexes down the track?

Ive been experimenting on this with my northern litters and finding that its usually males that cause the issues,small sample size though

I segregate to smaller groups at first sign of trouble,so far working well,of my first litter from 4 seasons ago i have a group of 4still together,there was another female that lived with the male for a while but she lives with freeloader now,so i moved another group of females from same litter in with him

I have another pr of that litter together to,i origionally thought they were two females until this breeding season,other males tried to hurt him,he was the original picked on specimen by my big male of that litter,and dark kunnanurra lass copped a bit to,shes very fiesty and if others carry on it gees her on to throw her weight around to

Id be inyerested if u guys hold a few back if u can tell me what sexes the trouble makers have appeared to be

Yeah I tend to agree, it's usually the males that our the problem.

They 'in general' grow faster in the first 6 months, pisces20 mentioned it in his article in Scales n Tails magazine a few years ago.

I feel Easterns are the worst for it, as I did plenty of Northerns last season and the Easterns I had were nasty in comparison.

If you are chasing some qld Easterns Rich, give me a holler, I can't keep them all.

Might have to make some room for some qld easterns,they look great,alot different to victorian ones

Yeah i saw that in rogers article,in particular that males grow faster,which seems to hold true for northerns with me to

Its funny as ive never really had issues raising easterns in groups except the odd male has got niggly at around 12 months of age,mostly just chasing others ,mind u my adults the last couple of seasons have been a little niggly,since taling them out of the vic alpines cage,last season onr of the females was also biting and harassing my gravid female,thankfully shes been pretty mellow this season,that ive seen anyways
