Is that hemipene damaged or is that just how they look after copulation? I believe that my indo's hemipenes aren't kind of opened up like that one is.

Are your temps just starting to drop Susann or have the been dropping over the past couple of months?

They have been dropping for a couple of months. But I have yet to see any interest from my other (breeding) male.

If something were wrong (tear, scratch, ect.) he would have been pouring the blood. It was just a drop that dripped off before it slipped back in.. which I assume it is normal since I have seen it in a very videos.

Hmm.. they have been dropping very slowly since August (same with humidity). Then this cold front came in, and Ema start picking up.

My other male is also not showing any interest, and no hemipenes seemed swelled like Ema's..

And Underground Reptiles doesn't turn the heat panels on until 35 or below (which is VERY uncommon).. so, I think I'm going to try and house them outside year round.

I was thinking, you know how Susann had a super long gestastion period for BOTH of her females, do you think after I get a couple more breeding, and I give the sperm time to reach the egg in the cold to create the zygote (to make sure they all survive) I could bring her in to reduce to period of gestation?

Suprise suprise,early cool season matings,dryseason maters,just remember females can skewiff when they are ready,just because ones ready,doesnt mean others are

Dakota if it gets cool there,id be inclined to bring them indoors after mating season just to be on safe side,thats just me though,but i dont know your weather,but assume its cooler in cool period to merauke region,but if days are reasonably mild outside would probably be ok still

Anywhere from 60 to 68 on average right now during the night.. 75-85 during the day on average. How long does breeding season last for your guys? How will I know breeding season is officially over?

Those temps sjould be fine outdoors,cool nights arent bad when they can bask the next day

For me with northerns,females usually last 7 to 14 days before males lose interest,if cool period lasts a while the females have lasted out to six weeks before shutting down but 2 weeks i guess is your average

When females are done males lose interest or females get narky and fight back,generally though males just go from gung ho after female to couldnt give 2 hoots about her,some females can be narky still when in there peak period of window,so id ne more inclined to wait for male to stop showing interest

Okay, I know when I first put Ema in the cage with her I seen he was following her around, then he started going wild around the cage.. like went into hyper mode? Then I looked over I seen it happen. He was with her for maybe 3 hours or so, then I put him back after I made sure his hemipene went in okay.

Sounds promising,when in there prime the males usually go straight after females,so you probably are still early into there window of oppatunity

Just put them together, and he is already showing interest. He is nudging, but no nipping yet.
