My BTS is aggressively hungry…? (Pics!)

When one problem gets solved another arises it seems. As expected though. It’s a living creature that’s always changing, and as an owner you’re constantly learning. My young skink has now gotten a great day and night cycle. Wakes up when the lights come on and falls asleep when they go off. She used to burrow 24/7 but now barely at all. I feed her cat food daily. Portions about the size of her head roughly around the same time every day. I swap between mixes but all the same brand. Sometimes throwing in greens, maybe a super worm or two, just good meals in general. However, when she’s out playing she seems to be aggressively hungry. Any little spec she finds she’ll try to eat. She’ll find specs of… something on the floor before me and it’s down the hatch before I can even reach her to stop it. Even going as far as trying to rip a screw out of furniture. She has an incredibly strong fixation on phones too. She constantly tries to nibble at phones much larger than her. My worst fear is that she has a parasite and that would line up with people saying she’s older than what I’ve been told by the breeder. The breeder said 2 1/2 months old, but I’ve been told otherwise. If so then she’s incredibly small for anything older. Does anyone know what I can do to minimize the gluttonous behavior? Or should I check for parasites.

Once her size and weight levels off she will slow down. I feed youngsters and babies all they want for the first six months, as this is their active growth period. Some breeders do not do this as they want to keep them small and looking younger as most buyers want babies. There is also the rapid growth concern and space issues. I simply do not breed more than I can adequately house and sell off in a given amount of time. Unfortunately, even the captive born/bred pet trade has become more commercial than personal. I could go on for days about this, but would rather not as it is very upsetting to me what I've seen in recent years. Baby season is coming, everyone! Buyers beware and do your homework, be able to identify the species yourself and do not rely on what seller is telling you it is. Sorry for the ramble. It's just that I've seen so much as I come from the days when 'captive bred' was not even a term used when talking about reptiles.

Very cute pictures of your skink. I would for your skinks absolute safety not let it out unsupervised. Make sure you pick up anything that might make your skink think it is food or want to chomp on. You don't want your skink to get a foreign body from eating something it shouldn't. As Splashy suggested, I would feed it all it will eat at this point daily.
