Bedding Issues

Postby kphill » Thu Feb 18, 2021 7:06 pm

Hi! I'm brand new here so I'm sorry if I've posted this in the wrong place.
I've had my skink for almost over two years, and the person I rescued her from kept her on repti-carpet. I switched her to eco earth and she absolutely loved being able to dig, but she would end up eating it and she got an infection on her mouth that was treated at the vet. The vet recommended Care Fresh, which I've been keeping her on for a year, but she has had an awful time getting shed off her toes because the lack of humidity. I also got a misting system to help, but the Care Fresh sucks up all the moisture, and I'm worried that the wet bedding is going to mold. Does anyone have any recommendations for bedding that she can burry in, that isn't dirt, that would keep humidity? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Care fresh is definitely too dry. Repti bark, coco husk, cypress mulch or similar all work well.
Sometimes I use a combination of all three.
