Enclosure minimum height?

Postby Trickd » Fri Apr 10, 2015 11:47 am

Animal Plastics is having a sale on their 48L x 24D x 12H cages and I was wondering if 12 inches is too short for a BTS since it looks a bit cramped to me. Would there be temperature difficulties, would a BTS feel cramped, etc?

Not usually, but need to make dire there is adequate space for substrate without spilling out when u open it. Also the position of lights need to be 3-4 inches or more from the sidewalks to prevent them touching if they climb. Generally however they tend to slide down the sides of the enclosure, so touching lights isn't such an issue as with snakes.
If you wait, all that happens is that you get older. M. Andretti

Thanks for the reply! Looks like it'll probably be too small for the substrate to not spill out.
