Hunting for food

Postby joan » Fri Jul 25, 2014 3:50 pm

So the other day I hid a bunch of food (a meal) for Gronk to find while he was out. It was pretty cute watching him walk around to find the "hidden" food. I made a video! This is my first time ever making a video (as in, putting clips together) but it's actually kind of fun. :D Apple makes things so easy!

So cute :) whats that plastic wall thing? That would be so awesome for my bluey to play in so I don't have to snag her from trying to go under the furniture.

It's this: http://www.grrreatwall.com
I had it sitting around because I used to have rats (and actually never really used it for them, lol) but FINALLY I have a perfect use for it!!!

I know. :( I got it a few years back ago and it was cheaper though I don't remember how much. It is very sturdy, which is good, and relatively heavy for a small animal. I'm not sure I'd spend quite so much for it these days...but I don't know? It does have some perks. It can fit to any sort of space, rolls up, they can't climb it and ...I also let my beardie have a turn in it and I threw in some crickets for him to chase. A regular pen just wouldn't work for bugs. ;)

Great video, I really enjoyed it. I want to do something similar for Toad. I will come up with something.

One time, I had him in the pen and he was basking on a log. I set a dish of food down maybe 1.5 -2 feet away. Almost instantly, he picked up his head, sniffed the air and went straight to the food. I thought that was really cool. It'll be fun once he gets more comfortable and understands the game. I can hide the food a lot more and watch him search for all of it!
