Just got some new products off amazon the other day and thought I'd share my review of them.

Zilla Ominvore Mix
This is a mix of frozen dried veggies and insects. So far, the skinks love it. It's a very easy way to feed veggies to your skinks. All you have to do is add water and wait 5 min. I also like that it won't go bad. And I like that it has crickets and roaches in it as well.

Pro Exotics PE2 Temp Gun
This is an inexpensive IR temp gun. It has a lazer pointer so you know exactly where you are measuring. The quick scan time virtually gives you a 3d temp reading of the entire tank. So far it's working very well.

It was hard for me to believe that Apollo would eat veggies w/out the meat! I love it when I put food in and it gets scarfed down instantly. Makes me feel like I'm making the little guys happy

I would assume the vege.bug bag would be pretty worth a pretty penny?

$11 shipped on Amazon.com. I spend that much for 1 or 2 weeks of fresh veggies for the skinks, which is frustrating because 2/3 of it goes bad before I can use it all. If I had a large collection and were feeding 10+ skinks it wouldn't be cost effective to buy this mix. But since I'm only feeding 2 mouths, this mix will last me months and not go bad. Plus it has the bugs which the skinks seem to love.

I'd always be cautious with the dehydrated mixes. They look like they have good nutrition, but I would be wary about them continuing to absorb water once they are in the gut, which could obviously cause problems. I know the pack says five minutes soaking, but if you have to feed it, I'd be tempted to soak a good 15 minutes, just to be sure.

Great point. I actually soaked it for about 12 min by the time I actually got the food in the tank cuz I had to divide the food into each food bowl, clean their water bowls, and sprinkle vitamins and Ca+D3 on it. It was unintentional that time, but I'll definitely be soaking for extra time from now on.
