Growth?

Postby crm2000 » Wed Apr 03, 2013 6:12 pm

Hi, I have been reading a lot of topics where people say their skinks are like a foot at four months old so I measured Percy again and he is only a foot and nine months old is that normal :noknow: ? Maybe I'm just paranoid... Thanks!!!

Honestly, there isnt really a clear cut (or even murky) growth/weight/length guide for blueys since SO much relies on diet, age, lighting, heating, etc. He looks healthy to me though :)

Yeah I thought so I was just about to feed him but his food was frozen its thawing now. Thank you by the way I was a little paranoid with his health since my friend's lizard just died out of the blue (tongue skink!) so I've been researching even more about health problems. Thank you!!!

Don't worry - giving the skink time to grow slowly is good. It gives their bones time to develop and keep up with their weight. You don't necessarily want a giant skink at a young age - it isn't what would occur in the wild and there is no reason to grow them super fast, even if they will eat that much. You skink sounds just fine. :D
