Possible mouth infection on Rambo's mouth ??

Postby casper_nz » Sun Oct 23, 2011 2:52 pm

Hello,

I can happily say since my last post that Rambo is now eating really well and growing heaps :-)

However I have noticed what looks like a mouth infection on the left side of the mouth?

Can someone please have a look at the attached pictures to see if I am correct.

His eating does not seem to be affected. The skin looks swollen

the looks on the sides of their mouth varies a lot from shed to shed. but i cant tell you if this is a mouth indection or not since i have yet to encounter a skink in reality with this issue.

if you get a photo of the skinks mouth while its a bit open i think that might help the others a bit.

This seems to happen a lot. I don't think it's an infection, usually it's more like the scales are a bit bent from biting something hard or from having food/shed/dirt stuck there for a while. If the area is kept clean it usually just goes away on it's own.

If you can open the mouth a little make sure that area isn't a funny color or anything. That's all I really know about this issue.
