it is in a can and humans can eat it i want to know if i can feed it to my bluey the ingredients are: sausage, mechanically separated chicken, water, beef , , pork, salt ,corn syrup ,contains 2% or less or of Dextrose, Natural flavors, sodium nitrate, garlic powder, chicken broth. it is in a sealed can and i want to know if my if my Irain Jaya can eat it. thanks

Try to avoid over-processed junk for blueys (and yes, humans too!). Anything with preservatives, sodium, flavorings, corn syrup etc is not natural or healthy.

As the others have said: corn syrup, spices & salt are all no-good for a reptile. Good on you for asking first though! If you want to share your snacks with your blue tongue set aside some cooked unseasoned beef, chicken, pork or eggs the next time you make it for yourself, it will be much appreciated and much more healthy!

What Ali said. Personally I often cut up the dinner scraps and give them to the blueys the next day. Bits of sausage etc aren't going to kill anything in an otherwise balanced diet but the problem with processed foods is that they contain a range of other stuff like emulsifiers, preservatives and may also have other things on them like sauses etc. A little bit of saturated fat isn't necessarily a bad thing for a bluey depending on how fat it is in the first place.

Mechanically separated? What does that mean? A pig, chicken and cow fight down on the farm that had to be stopped by a taskforce of machinery?

Ummm ... cholesterol, saturated fats, sugar, artificial flavours, salt, garlic ... maybe it's good as an old wive's tale for killing vampires by proxy, but not as any kind of food item you would actually eat once you found out the contents, skink, human or otherwise.

Stick to plain old chicken or natural dog/cat food without the additives, no added salts or sugar and no preservatives.

And in case you have already fed it and it looked like he enjoyed it, remember, they will often eat what they are given, especially if it tastes good, but this doesn't mean they should have it.

God no, that's stuff is poison for humans let alone skinks.

My guys are spoiled as they get what I eat. Local eggs from cage free chickens, organic and/or local greens in the spring, summer and fall. I go to the Farmer's Markets around here when they're open to buy most of my fruits, vegetables, raw milk and cheese, grass fed beef, pork, chicken, etc.

I've become a fitness and nutrition fanatic in the last year and have managed to lose 47 pounds so far. Skinks are all in good shape likewise except for Jerri who doesn't get enough running around time. They have so far also refused to lift weights along with me!!
