confused
is it normal for a pet skink to sleep all day everyday? I hear they are supposed to be active during the daytime but it never comes out of it’s den. I know it’s alive though because I check up on it and see that it has moved positions.

Re: confused
During this time of year most skinks will slow down and brumate. What kind is your skink? How old?

it’s a blue tounged skink who is 4 years old. also is it also normal for a skink to not come out after it eats? mine is usually active roaming it’s enclosure but I’ve noticed every time I feed them they stay in their hide for a few days and don’t come out.

Re: confused
Normal for this time of year. What type BTS? If it's a Northern could be seasonal. Indonesian types may slow a bit also.

Sunny is a Northern blue-tongued skink the eating and hiding in its den for a few days he or she does all year round everytime I feed them. I’m hoping that sunny just likes to nap it out and be left alone after having a full belly

Sometimes I worry though after eating they stay in their den from 4 days to a week but I always make sure to check on them during that time

Re: confused
Being a longtime keeper/breeder my observations tell me that BTSs don't do much else. If they are content that's pretty much normal behavior. They come out, have something to eat, may bask a little then back in their hides. The only time I see constant activity is breeding season, which is right about now till mid March where I live (in the Northeast).
