Critique My Enclosure

Postby Noodlebasket » Fri Jan 22, 2021 9:03 pm

This is the enclosure I have prepared for the ~4 month old Irian Jaya I have on deposit with a local exotics shop. The left side is hot and all stones are placed either on larger stones or directly on the base to prevent squishings. The right side (cool side) water bath is also placed on a large paving stone that is directly on the base of the tank. Back right under the leaves is another cork bark hide functioning as the cool hide. Center is the humid hide with sphagnum. Vines are dyed moss with a thick wire, silk leaves. Probe placement is temporary, as is everything else until I feel comfortable with feedback so let me hear it. Happy to answer questions and post additional pictures on request. Thanks in advance!

Looks really good. Humidity should be pretty easy to maintain in there

Thanks for the response, I am really hoping humidity stays as consistent with the skink in it as it has without them haha

No reason it won't. Irian Jayas typically are pretty hardy when it comes to humidity. Mine has done just fine even in the dead of winter when the humidity drops aa low as 40%.

I am very glad to hear it! I am in florida so I don't think I should be as worried about low humidity as I am haha. I'll chalk it up to new pet jitters. Cheers!
