I have had a major interest in Reptiles for a long long time and researched lots on many different species etc for years before finally pulling the trigger and committing to it, and currently I am loving it.
He (I have decided to call it a he to make it easier) handled quite well when I met him just a bit of huffing and puffing when picked up, I brought him home on Saturday and he seemed to be happy exploring his viv, he took a waxworm from my tweezers and promptly dug a hole and slept there until the next day, he came out and I gave him some greens and then promptly got back into his hole! Today when I woke up he wasn't out and about and came out in the afternoon, I wondered if he was hungry so offered a couple crickets which he happily took off me and then had a drink from the water bowl (which I was relieved to see) and is now in a hole in a different place in the viv. Judging from what others feed I think I'm fine to leave him without food tomorrow and see what he will do, I haven't tried handling yet other than sticking my hand in and moving stuff around, which he doesn't bothered by.
I have 2 questions really:
After feeding every time, he has moved somewhere else and done a sort of spasm or tremor, I searched this up and found out about tremors but most of the info is about illnesses, could it be something else like a huff at me etc? I'm just a bit worried about his health (although I went through a list of things to look out for and I'm happy he looks very healthy other than that)
He spends about 80% of his time currently burrowed, which I'm fine with but is this usually how long they spend burrowed or is just because it's new.
I'm not worrying too much about handling yet and will explore that after my other worries are gone.
Thank you
PS his name is Yhorm
