Keeping Temps Up At Night

Postby Dubs » Mon Apr 27, 2020 8:04 pm

Is there a preferred way to keep temperatures up in the night? I've seen people say heat mats can cause burns and I don't want that to happen. Would a heat mat hooked to a thermostat fix that problem? Are ceramic heat emitters a better option? Thanks

Temperatures naturally drop at night. If your ambient household temps do not go below 65 degrees give or take, you will not need nighttime heat. I have never used nighttime heat in over 40 years of keeping reptiles. Just see that you do not feed late.

It does tend to get colder here at night, especially in the winter months.
Thanks for the replies.

Agree, CHEs work best but carefully monitor humidity as they dry up the air quickly.
