Re: Pine
Can I see a pic of the whole package? I don't think I've ever seen that on this side of the pond.
I use coco-husk, harmless chopped up coconut shell, and in big enough pieces that they don't get caught up in the sliding door track.

Re: Pine
Not a lot of pine trees in the tropics .
I'd be reluctant to use the stuff unless I knew exactly what species of pine it is.

Re: Pine
Alrighty then, I would think if it was marketed for reptiles the substrate would be treated in such a way that it's harmless, but I have not heard anything positive about pine. I'm reluctant to dismiss the product as I have never used, and there are many types of conifers that are safe, and many are generically called 'pine'.

Re: Pine
I had posted asking about the pine in Exoterra rainforest substrate back in 2017, I had just bought a bag of it. After a few days, I didn't like that I could still smell it. That's when I found out it had pine. I threw it all away and gave my BTS baths to remove any possible residue on them. I had my 2 oldest at that time. Neither showed any kind of symptoms/reactions in the short time they were on it. But I remember being concerned by the smell so was worried it would eventually bother them because they had to live on it. Since it was a well known reptile company I didn't question exactly what it was made of right away, it was a learning lesson

Thanks for this, il 100% not use it after reading that, definitely not worth the risk, especially with ventress as his chest is his weak point from having a respiratory infection as a baby when I got him. Last thing I’d ever want to do is make him poorly. Thanks for the info x
