Since they have not produced offspring, you really can't call them a breeding pair...xxmonitorlizardxx wrote:-breeding pair: $2500

Re: Many available skinks!
Is this a question to me? Well, then I'll answer with the limited knowledge I have:xxmonitorlizardxx wrote:They're a pair of skinks and they breed?
No. They do not breed. Your "axanthic" trio of "Meraukes" have not ever produced offspring since they were imported into the US. Therefore they are not a breeding pair. You really shouldn't even call them a pair since, last I heard, you have not seen the "female" produce slugs --you just assumed that she slugged out since she did not produce babies after mating.
If you are going to call yourself a breeder, then the very least you could do is make sure you don't mislead buyers simply because you don't know the correct terminology.
I will give you the lesson again: When skinks "have sex", it is called MATING. When a male MATES the female, and the female produces offspring, then they have BRED. At that point they are a BREEDING pair, and at that point you have a skink you can label "female" when selling.
What you have is a MATING pair (which, as you well know, is no guarantee with BTS that the one on the bottom is female). You do not have a BREEDING pair.
Yes, two skinks are a pair of skinks, but in this industry when you say "a pair" it is understood by all that you are saying they are one male and one female.
Am I wrong? Do you have pictures of the female with her delivered slugs? (--Which still wouldn't make them a breeding pair, but it would make your claim of one of them being female valid.)

Re: Many available skinks!
A simple misuse of terminology. They are a "mating pair".
I am as confident as I can be with the sexes without having seen babies be produced. The "mating" is not the only factor being used to determine sex.
That being said everyone who has shown interest has been made aware that they have not produced offspring.
However, thank you for the correction.
