Selling my three-year-old male IJ

Postby Wiwaxia » Thu May 05, 2016 7:45 am

He is a gorgeous, very tame not aggressive male merauke. We bought him as a female but turns out to be a male. Our heart is bleeding for him, but we can't keep him as our older bluey is also a male. We live in Montreal and have never shipped any reptiles before, though I think it could be arranged. The price is 300 US dollars. Sheds well, eats well, absolutely not picky.

I have an female IJ that looks just like him. Maybe I can't see clearly from your pictures. Mike

He was sold as a female merauke, but since he's obviously not a female, everything can be possible at this point. I always had a hard time to tell these two apart except some very obvious cases (I was convinced that my other skink was an IJ until I found out via Susann that he was in fact a Merauke - though she wasn't even 100% herself either). So, might very well be an IJ.

I do think IJ every time I see him, but would need picture from top down, one of the entire animal including the tail would be nice as well as one of the head and body closer up...

A picture of the nape area without glare would be great, too.

Yup, I say it is pretty good example of an Irian Jaya. :) I guess it is a good thing it turned out to be male. :edward:

Not always easy; look how similar these two are!
But yeah, the one on the left is a Merauke, the one on the right is an IJ.

And I bought the left one as an IJ (though always had doubts) and the right one as a Merauke. But now I'm getting trained more and more *feeling determined*
