Skink Enclosure Dilemna

Hello,
I am hopefully a soon to be BTS owner! I need opinions on the enclosure. I currently have a 36"x18"x16" (45 gallon) tank but I have to replace the bottom section of glass cause there currently is no bottom which is gonna cost me 45$. But I'm wondering if I shouldn't just buy a whole new enclosure entirely like a 70gallon because I know 36x18x16 is the bare minimum for a skink. Do you think the 45 gallon is worth fixing and be suitable for a skink for the rest of its life? Or save up and buy a bigger tank? Also if anyone knows any reputable BTS breeders in Canada that would be great too Thanks so much

If you have the room i would recommend more towards 4-6Ft long but it also depends on how expensive/cheap enclosures are up there.

Yeah, they do appreciate the extra room so go as big as you have the room for. That way if you end up getting an adult bluey you have a big enough enclosure ready to go, and if you get a baby it can go straight into a big enclosure with a few extra hides and stuff so they feel secure. Getting a bigger enclosure up front saves you having to go bigger later. It's the floor space that matters.

It's also easier to get a bigger temp gradient in a bigger tank. I have a 4ft (not huge but bigger than minimum) and I can get an OK temp gradient in that of up to around 35 C up the basking end and around 22 C at the cool end.
