Little swollen and pink toe

Postby Snowysmom » Tue Nov 10, 2015 9:02 am

Hi all-

While just coming off abx for her intestinal bacterial infection, I notice Snowy holding up and sometimes slowly waving a front right foot. Foot and leg are normal and strong and noticed her little thumb-like digit slightly swollen and light pink when looking at the foot pad, bottom of foot. There is no stuck shed at all. Could this be caused by a lot of different things? It doesn't look that bad at all, but it's obviously bothering her, so a vet visit has been made for tomorrow. Meanwhile, I am worrying beyond belief once again that this is something awful. Has anyone had issues like this before and what did it turn out to be?

Thank you.

Foot waving in my experience is either from too dry of conditions or too wet; their feet have sores, usually. Try putting her on paper towel and see how she improves.

Not saying that is what Snowy is experiencing, though. Just what is usually the culprit here over the years. Keep us updated.

Hey Dakota. I think that would be an option, but it is clearly the one foot only with that crazy looking toe. I am not doubting that this is true in your case though. :)

I agree with Dakota , because I have seen that in skinks before. I think it is lack of humidity and maybe due lose of toes too.

I've attributed the "waving" or holding up while trembling to be a response to pain.
I've had several skinks lose toes due to what we've been calling M.I., and it usually starts like this, a swollen, red/pink toe or two. Not to scare you. Any issues with eyes at all?
