A season of females

Let me start of by saying, I have a great deal to learn about sexing bts. I have someone who can tell me in a short time. My big male northern has come in very handy for me this season. I was expecting to breed my pair of kununurras this season. I put what I thought was the male in with the big male northern. No combat just mating. Kununurra male is female. Next up was the male hypo. In with the male northern, no combat but mating happened. Scratch the hypo being male. I had borrowed another hypo male from a guy I know. In with the big male northern, again no combat but mating. Scratch that hypo being male. To finish off the Brisbane eastern is also female. I must concede Richard was always correct when I sent him pics.

haha,scott,well i was wrong with the male kunnanurra,but we will correct that for next season

You may have misunderstood me Richard. I wasn't being sarcastic. I meant you have been right in sexing all the pics I sent you. The Kununurra doesn't count as I thought it was male as well. The big boy soon sorted that out when he mated her. Each Kununurra female has had four matings as well as Dave's nothern, but could only get two with the hypo before she was done for the season. Good get that was a female from MW line. There is always next season.

The non stripe female haven't seen as young but the stripe line is pretty much born that way. I saw this line of hypo at the melbourne reptile expo about 3 or 4 years ago. I think then they were about $1500.

yeah i think i went to that vic expo and saw them there to scott,sometimes just one or two matings is enough,so could still be a good outcome

its not first one ive gotten wrong,needed the big male and its brother to varify that what i assumed was a female was infact a puny slow growing male,whom after that ordeal last season then decided to put some size on,lol

Just looking at the bite marks on the non striped female hypo. That was one of the reasons she was only in with the big northern once with no mating. The bite marks clearly show up on the light coloured animals. What makes it worse is she doesn't belong to me and I am responsible for her care. The lady that owns it was told it was male when she bought it. Being male it wouldn't get marked up in breeding. Will see if she is willing to breed it next season, looking like it is, when she picks it up from me. The marks will only be worse next season.

some males get pretty roughed up to,not to the extent of females on there backs but males being the big meathead roughbuts they can be often cop bites from females,usuallu to tail or under bottom jaw area

last season my bog kunnanurra and his son both copped lower jaw bites,this season they seem to have got through unscathed,the two fiesty girls,one was supprisingly quite willing this season,the fiestiest one onlu got covered 3 times

my young male kunnanurra/prince regent male and a young kunnanurra male both have copped the lower jaw injury,the forner also has eaised scale area on mid section of his tail,which is odd because he was actuallu reasonblu gentle and the female didnt appear overly against it

normally clears up after a few sheds,it certainlu stands out on the hypos though

I just don't want to freak the lady out about her hypo.
