a couple have had 2 seperate males cover them but most i like to stick to one male

i do keep a few in prs to small groups,but rather oddlu,the males of said groups show no interest in there female cage mates,but breed females from other cages

a couple live by them selves to as they are rough nuts

the mother of this female,big fiesty kunnanurra lass is ovulating as we speak which is quite interesting

8th mating for kunnanurra/prince regent male over kunnanurra female

big male wildcaught kunnanurra had a go at a young kunnanurra lass but had to go out so will try them later

big male kunnanurra was popped into wild caught males cage whilst i paired wildcaught elsewhere and totally ignored the two big kunnanurra lasses,a good sign it was ovulation i witnessed yesterday as he was still harrassing her up until then but she was biting back

only 3 matings for her thus season as she cycled in period when i was busy at work,so had big gaps between pairings,be interesting to see how she goes

I think my Merauke season might be early, too, Richard. Hemipenes are already starting to swell, and the males are becoming more territorial. Not much interest in the females, yet. I'm am introducing once or twice a week just to make sure I don't miss their cycles. Them being exposed to tropical weather, I expect they will breed a lot earlier than those elsewhere. Time will tell!

doesnt hurt to try intros,i find dropping sperm plugs frequently a good sign more so then territorial and hemipenal swelling though

alot of mine swell up in lead up to cooling down and get a bit argeu bargey to,especially temperate stuff,the cooling weather before shut down seems to bring that on

also with mine,the earlyness is attributed to living in a poxy cold climate,oddly folk north of me in more tropical climates dont get much action till later,ive only just started seeing some of them get action now,most of mine have been done and dusted for a while now

how you use your climate and do your cycling of temps plays a role there though so can vary from keeper to keeper and never under estimate that females can use cage conditions differently and thus cycle way out of wack then others,males can to but they have huge breeding windows in comparison to females

last 2 seasons now my big female kunnanurra cage mates have gone months apart,live in same cage but use cages conditions differently

Sure is a lot of matings going on, when do they start to stop mating usually?

usually when females stop giving off phermones signalling there windows are shut,though some stop when the females start biting back,some dont so i just stop if females are getting narky ax its usually a good sign they are done

two females ovulating,but usually see this after i stop intros as females get narky before this,these 2 girls were very fiesty,especially the big lass,so i stopped pairings a while ago,the smaller one,actually bigs ones daughter ,the male just stopped showing interest,for quite some time,oddly she was laying on her side when i found her ovulating,but she rolled back down when i got close to cage to take a pic

she charges over to bite if i go in cage,the big girl im safe until she starts dropping babies,the she also tries to eat me

temps are struggling to reach double figures last few days so not muxh inteeest going on,trying the young fella right now ut there just huddled up basking

and just like that i think we are done for the season,right when they normally start on average,males are still raring to go but all females of likable size have shut up shop

time to wake a few temperate forms slowly and see what happens

last mating pics above shows her son mating,she tends to have a mixed looking litter having been covered by kunnanurras,if last seasons babies wake up again,ill pop some update pics of them up in a different thread

So how many females have mated, not the amount of mating's but amount of females curious as to how many litters you can expect.

i never count my chickens before they hatch,but 6 females got covered,a 7th may also have but could just be niggle scuffing from a cage mate,there both quite small still but she has ballooned ,so time will tell there

just scrolling back to check on dates,looking very promising ,and a couple are looking very close now,prince regent lass is huge,first kunbanurra lass not big at all,but shes always hidden it well,they havnt been eating a great deal yet either,due to going so early
