How long have you had her for? I can't pick Vegas up yet as he gets very angry and bitey when I go to feed or water him. Its only been about 2 days, just wanted to see how long it took for you to be able to hold yours.

It's been 3 days now, for me. I left her alone for the first 24 hours since she was very huffy and skittish, other than to offer her a bit of food on a plastic spoon. But the second day and today I took her out of the enclosure and held her/let her explore my bed. She's stopped huffing at me, but she does try to retreat when I go to take her from the enclosure. Once I have her in hand, though, she mostly settles down.
Right now, I only take her out of the enclosure very briefly, mostly just to eat, so that she associates me and being handled with getting food.

Oh okay. I am currently on Day2, he is still quite angry and I have to take him out of his hide to make him eat or he won't. Hopefully I can get to the point you are at!
Congrats on your little cutie, keep the thread updated I would love to see more pictures!

There'll be more, don't you worry! ;D
Yesterday, my girl pretty much turned her nose up at the dog food I offered her, but she did accept a couple crickets and mealworms. Either she just wasn't feeling very hungry, or she's just been spoiled on my homemade chow. XD
I'm thinking the latter, because when I got her out today, and presented her with the chow, she dug right in. Also offered her a few bits of dark cherries. She chewed a piece for a little bit, but spat it back out.

Re: Chai - My First Bluey! (New Pics & Videos!)
I finally settled on a name for my girl; Chai!
Chai is my favorite kind of tea, and since my Bluey has colors and a personality (sweet and a little bit spicy haha) that remind me of it, it fits. Plus, pretty gender neutral if she turns out to be a he.
I ordered some proper hides and a tank background for her, so her enclosure will look much nicer in the near future.
Not that she probably cares all that much, but I'll be happy to have the plastic bins out of there, and for there to be a pretty jungle-y backdrop for display. Should make the enclosure a bit more impressive, and add a little security for Chai.
I've been spot-cleaning every day, and usually only find one or two poops/urates. They've all seemed healthy and normal. She has peed on me twice, but hopefully she'll get out of that habit the longer she's here and gets used to being handled. I take her out of the tank every day for at least a few minutes, so really to only be peed on a couple times since I got her isn't too bad. Possibly just bad timing on my part.
She didn't really eat for 2 days, save for accepting a couple little mealworms, but today she had a decent teaspoon's worth of Pedigree. So looks like she's definitely old enough now that she only needs to eat every couple days. That is a small bummer, though, because it's so fun to watch her eat. XD I love the giant bites Blueys take out of their food!
Once her new hides and everything arrives, I'll take more pictures and maybe videos.

The word chai, or чай, in Russian is actually the word for tea

Chai received the first of her new hides, and the tank background in the mail today!
She climbed all over and through her new log, looking it over and getting comfy, not to mention the enclosure looks way better minus one of the plastic bins. Now just to wait until the other hides arrive, so I can take the blue bin out, too.

Re: Chai - My First Bluey! (New Pics & Videos!)
Chai had her first shed since coming to live with me! Almost 2 weeks since she arrived.
When I took her out for a feeding, she looked pretty rough and had pieces of shed already off or loose, so I gave her a very gentle bath under lukewarm water from the kitchen faucet, and spoke very softly to her throughout. I made sure not to force anything off, and was very careful, and by the end all that's left is on top of her head and on her front legs. Afterward, she seemed very calm and pleased to be free of most of the shed, and I let her snuggle down inside my shirt for a while so she could be warm and secure while drying off. It was the first time she was content to lie still and not constantly scuttling between my hands or all over my arms.
After a while of that, and she was nice and dry, I took her out onto the balcony for some pictures! Compared to the pics James Wilson took, it looks like she's developing more of the dark barring on her sides than she had before.

Re: Chai - My First Bluey! (New Pics & Videos!)
Chai continues to be adorable!
I've got her in a little dish rag on my chest, and she poked her head out. And I used a finger to just gently stroke her head, and she sorta-kinda has "headboobs" like a snake, and when I started rubbing those she closed her eyes and turned into a blob

!!!! Chai is perfectly suited to the harvest season -- there's nothing better than a chai latte in the autumn.
How big is she now? I'm interested in comparing her growth with Jelly's and Indivar's. Might help with determining their sex, possibly?

I have this feeling that Chai is a male, I don't know why, maybe the small looking hips in the photos!
But, I am a noob, and may be shooting in the dark.
You have one cute little skink though. How much has s/he grown??

Here's a size comparison! This is roughly 3 weeks of growth between the two sets of pictures.
