Update on Derp the rescued Irian Jaya

As most of you know, a month ago i rescued a sad little Irian Jaya that was dropped off at a reptile shop in California. He was suffering from MBD, and "mystery illness" which had caused him to lose most of his toes. He was also being treated for a respiratory infection. I got him home and set him up properly and have been babying this sweet skink since. He's been on a good diet, with proper heat and humidity and has been thriving. I think he looks amazing at this point. He still has the goofy jaw, which im sure wont ever get any better, but it doesnt seem to bother him at all.

Good job! He's looking much better. Is it just the pictures or does he have unusually dark eyes?

He has VERY dark eyes. That was the first thing i noticed once i looked him over.

Derp is looking fantastic! The jaw just makes him look a million times more endearing.

I thought so to. Hes only been here for a month and just shed a third time. Hes grown over two inches to.

A very promising update Austin. A bit of TLC combined with better husbandry can work wonders.

I haven't sighted her for over 12 months but this is a wild Blotchy living around our place with a mouth/jaw deformity. She has been here for over 2 years and survived, so hopefully the mouth won't be an issue for yours.

He looks great! I still have a soft spot for Kiah, who was one of my rescues, also from a pet shop. I've had him for years now! He's still disadvantaged by blindness and disability, but I couldn't adore him more. I think the same is going to be for you and this little one.
