Yea they did Richard, he's my hero lol. but in all seriousness i have wanted to get my hands on some northern sa's for a long time and its only because of his breeding efforts that ive been able to. Hopefully i can get them to breed down the track, they do look very pair like, especially in the tails, so fingers crossed.
Haha yea the eyre pen are nice too, I think the SA's are underrated in general, but these are like the holy grail for me. Sorry I don't have any photos of the others on hand but I will add some when I get around to taking some.

Wow! Those Northern SA forms are absolutely incredible. They are a very rare form. Very lucky indeed. I once saw a picture of an NT form that was at the Alice Springs Reptile Centre. The NT form look very similar.

I agree with Richard. You should put up the pics of your other westerns also. IMO, the Eyre Peninsula form are also stunning. I don't know why everyone in the eastern states under rate the SA forms.

Gizmo shed on the 1st, took these on the 2nd. Gizmo is roughly 40cm long now, when I first got him he was 25-30cm! He's easily doubled in weight too, although I won't tell him that. Last picture was taken in the shade, the rest were taken in morning sunlight. :)

I realised camera settings made the colours richer in the pictures I posted earlier in the thread (also in my avatar), these were taken using the camera's macro setting, not the scene setting. He still has nice yellows, regardless of the setting!

Those SA Westerns look fantastic! I'm not a fan of them generally, although those two look particularly nice. Fingers crossed that you have a pair, Mark p.

That was supposed to be a tongue shot, however I didn't press the button in time, haha.

Is it a bad thing, for him to have a such a thick tail? He went off his food for a good couple of months, eating only bite or two when I left the food dish in overnight. I'm pleased to say that he is eating with as much gusto as he did prior to that period of selective fasting, however his tail didn't even lose much condition during that time. I hope he's not overweight, he doesn't look it (compared to the overweight blueys in the caresheet). Does a weight of 332grams/11.7 ounces to a length of 40cm/15.7 inches) sound healthy? :?

He's such a character, especially loves to tramp about the back yard as if he owns it. Which he probably thinks he does, he gets more outside time than the cat does.

Can't comment on the numbers, but he looks to be a healthy weight. I think he's just "big boned"

I hope that's the case, he looks okay weight to me from a top down view, and gets around like a bat out of hell if given a reason to be hasty. If he is big boned, he takes after his owner.

Excuse the ruler, I use it to measure 10mm for a reptile measuring program.

Very nice eastern you've got there, could easily pass for an adelaide plains locale, do you know what locale it is?

I'd guess Northern NSW Coastal/Southern Qld.

Lol, don't worry about the tail! Kiah has a really thick tail, accentuated by the slight shortness of it where he lost it as a youngster.

Earlier this year, Richard.C noted that the locale was a South East Queensland (in the very first thread I posted). Thanks for that by the way, Richard.C, up until then all I knew about locales was that an Eastern was an Eastern.

I lived in Brisbane when I purchased him. I purchased him from a pet shop, and not a breeder so I do not have an exact history on him. I haven't seen many locale specific Easterns, except those posted in a thread (RoryBreaker's thread on this seasons first litter of Easterns). He does look very similar to one of Lea's Easterns, named Jade, I think she said Jade was an Adelaide Hills locale.

Thanks! I'm glad Gizmo isn't the only chunky tailed Bluey out there, it's a relief to hear that he's just a solid Bluey and not overweight.

Jade is a lot lighter in colour, less yellow, too, but you are right, she is from the Adelaide Hills. Here she is!

That eastern is a beauty Lea, I love the light grey ones, she has nice tan coloured bands aswell, a stark contrast to this girl. Easterns are so variable around adelaide, even from the same suburb/town, I never get sick of seeing them. this one is also adelaide hills locale, from Belair, much darker in comparison.

She's more like kiah, although he's an Onkaparinga/ Sturt Gorge boy, I think. They share that greenish tinge. She's a beautiful girl, with lovely dark makings. It is amazing how many variations there are in such a small area, although, you can still spot the SA ones from the NSW types.
