HI, I'm James, 28 years old from Tempe Arizona born and raised here.

I just got my first northern blue tongue thanks to Jeff (and austin) at the show last weekend. I'm looking forward to this being my first blue tongue and foresee a lot of fun coming from this animal.
I have decided on the Name Zero for the blue tongue since it will reference being the ground zero from which i got my first animal. The fantastic animal i got from jeff below.

I also keep Emerald tree boas and just had a litter of 7 live healthy babies on the 12th of this month in addition to that i keep african fat tails, western hognose, a few leopard geckos (again thanks to austin) Leachianus geckos , green tree pythons and dumeril boas. (well the fat tails, leos and western hogs are all mainly thanks to austin), while I no longer keep chameleons, I kept and breed them for about 5 years, but the chameleon community became very obnoxious with the exception of a few keepers so I decided to get away from it for a while, I plan on keeping mellers and a few mountain species in the future, till then it's too hot on the city and hard to maintain

I Have kept reptiles since i was six years old and hope to be keeping a variety of animals the rest of my life.

my favorite blue tongue skink would have to be the western blue tongue and favorite shingleback is the broken hill aspera.
My favorite reptile over all would be the native Gila monster

further note, i don't know how active of a member i'll be in the future as i've been on a few forums in the past and usually get burned out quickly.

Austin is a pretty cool dude, huh? I'd love to meet him in person (as with other people here on the forum).. maybe get his Halmahera pair off of him. ( )

That is a cute little Northern. :D

I've known Austin for about 3 or 4 years now, he's has had and has alot of cool stuff, he's my herping buddy and I usually drive to payson and a few other areas in the March thru Sept months to herp. He's gotten me going on cool stuff and now blue tongues... I still want shingles though. Now that he has the cool new camera we can get awesome pictures of all the reptiles we do find.

Beautiful skink, and you have an awesome collection! :)

My husband has been talking about getting into chameleons (as pets, no breeding) but it's a big expense upfront and we want to do it right. I bet you produced some beauties!

Chameleons were difficult especially when breeding, I almost never had a female that was bred make it past 3 years of age, even when everything was done right the animals literally laid them selves to death..it was very difficult to continue breeding knowing I was literally killing the females. It's such a difficult balance to maintain prefect conditions to simulate wild type settings.. but I still love chameleons.. I jumped into it literally knowing nothing.
