Halmahera type Indos are pretty amazing animals. I wouldn't say that they are more rare though. This season I have seen more Indos with the halmahera look than standard Indos. As a matter of fact, I've only seen one or two Indonesians lately that look anything like the standard animals that have been imported for years.

I agree Richard, that yellow Indo is amazing. You don't see hardly any colorful standard Indos anymore, which is a shame.

This might be a odd question but do indo/halmaheras have the same shade of blue as other BTS like the northern?

Indos (including halmaheras) have a blue tongue that gradually fades to pink at the back of their mouth.

Shingles have very dark tongues. An indo's tongue won't be quite as fluorescent as that IJ's tongue, but it will still be a nice bright blue.

Well after doing more research i am now looking at a IJ but the problem with them is some look like indos and others look like northerns. Any idea why this is?

IJs are often mislabeled, so you will see very many Meraukes and Indos labeled as IJs.
http://www.bluetongueskinks.net/irian10.jpg
This is the typical patterning for an IJ. The thickness of the bands and the speckling on the legs is fairly constant in IJs. Notice that the front legs are mostly white; Indos and Meraukes will have solid black or black with white speckled legs.

I have kept/keep IJ's, Meraukes, and Halmaheras, and they have the same colored tongue. That photo looked super edited on the IJ. They have a bright blue tongue, just not as vibrant as some of the Aussie species..

Merauke:

Halm:
Same as the rest, don't have any photos.

The most different thing is the amount of blue, T. gigas have much less blue than a Cenetralian for example.

Different lighting causes for different shades, trust me, they are the same color, it is more of a specimen thing, not species.. IMO

In every video i have seen of indos they have very little blue and the rest pink.
