Lava the shingleback

As usual, all the lizards were up and about in the warm winter sunshine, but today was Lava's turn for photos. She's a beautiful yellow, brown and black and the sun just accentuates her colours.

She is so ridiculously beautiful! Love that sleepy look. :) Good thing I can't be anywhere near her; I'd just sit and kiss her all day....

She is so pretty. I can see why they get called sleepy-lizards. She's making my eyes heavy :)

Above all else, the part that really makes me melt is her adorable little toes. Mein gott are her feet ever cute.

He he, she does have cute feet, that's a shingle trait, all their feet are kissabley cute!

Thanks, everyone. I can't wait for spring to really burst and for the next round of shedding, they are all in old winter coats at the moment, but look even more glorious with a fresh set of scales!

Thank you. I chose the name because her yellow is so vivid, particularly after a shed. It looks like she has liquid gold necklaces draped over her back!

I love that one Lea! I think shinglebacks vary in color and pattern as much as any BTS. I wonder how many forms there are out there that we haven't even seen yet.

I was thinking the same thing about Leigh. Last we heard, you were about to make the big move, but then we never got another udate. It would be great to hear how things are going!

i remember leigh posting about rescuing a wild wa stumpy,was still settling in and sorting internet ect if memory serves me correctly

maybe hes to busy oogling at stumpies?
