[UPDATE] Introducing Oliver (James Wilson 2013 Baby)!

Postby WiFiber » Tue Aug 06, 2013 9:21 pm

Hey gang,

I wanted to introduce my new Bluey, Oliver!
Although he wasn't as perfectly striped as his siblings, his aberrance was something that really drew me to him.
I purchased him from James about three weeks ago. And since then, he has grown tremendously.

[UPDATE]: I have added more photos of him about a month older. Right down in the comment section!

Here he is:

At several weeks old (before I got him):

As of today:

Due to my being a College student, I obviously don't have a huge budget. After purchasing this 5'x2'x2' enclosure for a decent price, I used fake ivy and ferns from a dollar store to spice it up. Furthermore, I split the substrate half Aspen and half Eco-Earth (since I ran out of Aspen).

Let me know what y'all think!

And finally one more picture of him for the night! :-)

He's completely adorable :cloud9: What a cutie.

I happen to be a big fan of babies who have broken and unique banding <3

It's uneven stripey look makes me think that he has been buttoned up all wrong, but that's so endearing in blueys. That's a gorgeous little baby!

And he's a voracious eater! I cannot wait to see what he'll look like a year from now. Heck, I can't even wait until the next shed!

Just thought I'd update you all on him about a month later.

He is now 145 grams and approximately 11" long.

This is him two days ago with a bunch of shed still left on his head; his body was almost done. Egg time!

Image

The rest are of him this morning, after his complete shedding. Grape time!

Image

Aerial profile!

Image

A not-so-excellent quality photo of his banding and contrast.

Image

Handsome side-profile!

How does he look so far?

I also had a question, when should I expect him to reach full size? I feed him once every to every other day and sprinkle calcium on every second feeding.

Thank y'all and enjoy!

looking great, going to be a nice looking adult i reckon, they can reach adult size by 12 months if power fed but 18 to 24 months is usually when they fill out to on a more moderate feeding schedule

looking at your ones tummy looks like it likes its tucker so will likely be sizable as a yearling
