New skink, Advice??

Random question, where can I buy some snails for feeding(Live or Dead but preferably live)? Is there a website?

On Sunday, I plan to buy him several crickets, I know it doesn't give much nutrition, but I heard it's good for them to get some exercise/stimulation. How much is enough for just a 10 minute moment?

not sure theres a time limit orth of them,some juvies go nuts for them,probably eat there fill with in a minute or 2,i just chucked a few in here and there more as a treat i guess

How long does it take for a skink to shed per time? Every month, several weeks? Mine sheds about twice a month and is growing rather fast.

shedding poop or skin,if skin that sounds extremely excessive

Have you checked into mites? My guys shed a lot.. but not twice a week..

stress can lead to excessive shedding,but ive never heard of weekly shedding,let alone twice per week,juvies if they shed once per month there growing well

My guys shed about twice a month.. but hey-- they all grow differently.. lol

Sorry guys!!! Meant to put month***** he sheds twice a month* He sheds sometimes once a month but 2 usually (Current and last month he shed twice)

Just a suggestion. When you have a new question, I think it would be best to start a new thread. This one is getting very long, and covers a hundred topics. I'm not saying it's good to start a hundred threads, but each legitimate question probably deserves it's own thread. It is much less confusing than one thread with so many topics.

Sadly, things didn't go according to plan with the crickets. I gave one to him to see if he likes it, he ate it but, When I put him in a plastic box to put all of them (11 left) every time the crickets touched him, he got crazy and scared, he started bashing his head every where, tried running away, then for a little second he scratched his ear (For the first time) assuming he's forever afraid of crickets. Should I retry giving it to him when he's bigger?

can we try not to use one thread to ask lots and lots of questions,one of the benifits is people asking similar questions can find it easier in search

and dont have to look through 6 pages of different questions to find what they are looking for,will make it easier for you to go back and look at things to

also blueys dont like things climbing on them,they often even hate when a fly is buzzing around them near by,plus u put him in a small tub with 11 of them,perhaps just give one at a time next time

Hmm, this still seems to be a trailing and intermittently active thread. I will simplify things and lock this thread.

Bearded Derek, please start a new thread once you have further questions and if not needing urgent attention, perhaps wait until you have a few questions and ask them all at once, to help maintain a good flow in a thread and not have people having to go through pages and pages to see if what they want to say in reply has already been said and talked about.
