Introducing Jade: pics added 10/05
We have had this little one for nearly three months, given to us by a friend after being rescued from a dogs mouth as an under 10g baby. My boyfriend has been taking excellent care of her, as you'll see from the photos, since I've actually been in England for the whole time.
I think all her siblings were killed, but luckily she managed to escape without too much damage. She has a spinal defect and a few odd protrusions over her ribcage, but otherwise she's fit and healthy and has podged out into a little tubby. It's unclear as to whether the defects are from her injuries or from birth, but I'm guessing they are more likely to be birth defects, as she had no outward marks of injury.
Anyway, here are the pictures!

Re: Introducing Jade
That's a beauty Lea! It's hard to imagine how a 10 grammer could survive a dog's mouth, so that alone is a miracle. Can't wait to see how she develops!

Re: Introducing Jade
I think her tiny size kept her away from the teeth when she was picked up by the dog! She's a very lucky girl.
She's quite light compared to many other Easterns around these parts, very different to the greenish grey that Kiah has.
Thanks for the nice comments, I'm sure I'll take more pictures soon. She's a little flighty, but hopefully she'll start to calm down once she's been handled a bit.

Re: Introducing Jade
It's funny you say she is lighter than the typical eastern around you, because my first thought when I saw her was that she looked a little like the Brisbane easterns we have seen lately. Maybe she was on holiday in Adelaide when the family experienced a terrible tragedy?

Good luck with her Lea. She certainly wasn't starved during your absence.
