Curious observation in probable gravid skink

Postby StaceyLeigh » Wed Mar 13, 2013 8:41 am

Not sure if this is the place to post this, please feel free to move it if I goofed :D

I had Calypso out today to weigh her, and when I picked her up her middle/lower tummy felt like a water balloon? She definitely never felt that way previously(3-4 months ago) and my other 2 skinks don't feel like that either. I noticed this when I had her out a couple weeks ago as well, but it was more noticeable today. Is this common when they are gravid?

She is still gaining weight, today 1182g, last weight on 3/1/13 was 1150g.

Yes her weight at time of mating was 1090g, so she has gained just about 100g. So you are saying 1 of your females has had that feel to her when you pick her up?

She is a very big girl! 23 1/2" in length. I bought her as an adult and she has always been big.
