That's interesting. You have to know which parents they had to figure that out I guess. I was thinking of hybrids or new Meraukes, but I voted Merauke in the end. I'm absolutely no expert though.

Woops sorry that was a typo, I meant Pygmy/Western Hyrbrid x Leaherback Sea turtle/Shingleback Hybrid
Pics (The indo is the dad and the Merauke is the mom, although the guys swears they're IJ's...)
And it's possibly axanthic might be in shed though.

Re: Guess what these are
And my silver Tanimbar is actually a "snow" -.-' Next year I'll breed her with my "anery" male.
Colour =/= morph. What part of this is so hard for reptile people to understand? If it's not a proven genetic trait, it should never be labelled as one. Black & White Indos are a colour difference until genetically proven otherwise, just like silver and yellow tanimbars.
Until someone can prove their Indo is axanthic it is immoral to sell it as such. Patternless is genetic. Albino and melanistic are genetic. Axanthic, until proven otherwise, is not.
/rant.

Re: Guess what these are
I'm not going after you ML, I'm p'd off at any seller who would use the word "axanthic" without having the genetics completely proven and verifiable. These babies are Merauke x Halmahera Indo. The seller is just a dork-stick IMO
The babies do look fairly Merauke sadly. Could easily be passed off as such
There was another seller posting a "Hypo/Reduced Pattern Northern"! It's an IJ -.-' I messaged him to let him know, but no reply and no change.

Re: Guess what these are
I told the seller its and Indo x Merauke breeding and he replied saying:
I also have pairs of merakes. I wouldnt cross breed them. Theres a big difference in the looks that you cant tell by comparing them from websites. I gurantee 100% that it is definately not a marauke. When you breed (for instance, irian jayas) you will see differences between the offspring. When they grow and you breed you will see more differences. The looks will still be that of what you bred but it will vary. Its not very easy to tell the difference between some subspecies, especially if youre looking at them from a screens perspective. Trust me if you compared a group of marauke newborns or adults to a pair of irian jayas you would see big similarities in some from both groups, to where if you switched them only an expert would be able to tell. For the most part each species has a default image, but the image can and will vary especially with as much captive breeding and selection. By the way I started them off from wild caught indonesians two generations ago. I only explain to this extent because people always seem to get the same impression by comparing from websites that dont show all the different viriables of the certain species. Thanks anyways.
