Question about behavior
Hi there, Thank you all for the forum posts, kind words and comments about Naxos. We are really enjoying her and are so happy she is so easy to feed and care for. I am finding her personality and behaviors quite different from my previous green iguana. One particular behavior is curious and was wondering if any of you have any comments. As I mentioned before she a great eater. She will have a full meal and then wander around the floor and try to "eat" things. She is obsessed with the white rubber end on my kitchen chair legs. She will motion like she is digging around it with her front claws then put her whole mouth around it. I discourage her but she obsessively goes right back after it.

While loaded with personality... they are lacking in the intelligence department lol! Thats pretty normal, they all seem to be very orally inquisitive. This is also a VERY good reason for us keepers to keep a super close eye on our bts friends when they are out wandering!
Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

Haha, adorable. but yeah it is normal, one of mine tries to eat my nail polish container thats a shiny silver lid. and tried to eat my fingernails when i have any kind of nail polish on

Ive lost count of what some of mine have tried devouring,outdoors the dog drops its ball in the cage when im in there,often results in 5 or more of them trying to eat it,in saying that they bite at my shoes,dogfood cans ect ect,my sister was feeding them a bit last season,went in bare footed and one tried to eat her toe,haha

My skink bites his shiny thermometer and will often bite the edges of his food bowl. he will keep biting it for quite a while. His coordination isn't so good.

I think most blueys tend to like white things, such as rocks and what not.
