I've had the baby about a month now and this is his first shed since I've had him. I love his colors! His side blotches are a very nice yellow, then blends into a carmelish color on his back. He's gotten quite a bit bigger and he's turning into a very social skink. He doesn't hide or sleep nearly as much as he was. He sits by the opening of his tank a lot of the time now in hopes that I let him out to roam (he's still not the biggest fan of being held so I don't push it).

And here's some shots of his meal today. Sorry they are blurry but he went to town on them and I have a bad cam.
This was just a treat of meal worms and wax worms. His usual diet is more conventional (Usually he eats this type of meal... viewtopic.php?f=4&t=21008&hilit=+meals)
This was his first time eating live feeders !!! I was surprised at his aggressiveness toward them, my merauke was a lot more timid his first time.

Haha, so cute! mine becomes aggressive with live food too. grabs them and shakes them etc. Although, I was warned off meal worms from my herp vet, they are very difficult for blueys to digest compared to other foods, especially for younger blue tongues. I was told no more than 2 or 3 tops a week. I dont feed them meal worms at all anymore. and someone said (not a vet however so not sure) that wax worms are unhealthy and fatty for them. but I wouldnt know about that one.

Ya I only do it as a treat. I've had my Merauke for about a 1.5 years now and have fed him live feeders maybe 3 or 4 times. This was the first time I tried feeding live to the baby and won't do it for a while... Although I've gained a new respect for dubia roaches so I might try to gut load those and do it once or twice a month if I can get around to the reptile shop more often.

Im thinking dubia roaches for mine too, however mine already eat snails as live food and considering where I am I have to buy online, it makes it hard. The only place I can find sell them in bulkish lots which is annoying. what else does yours enjoying munching into? besides live food that is

So far he hasn't been too picky. He likes canned snails and canned caterpillars (zoomed brand) the best. He only gets a few of those per week but whenever I feed him those he smells it instantly and eats those first. He loves his meat too... He's been given beef, chicken, turkey, and chicken liver (and combo's of those) and seems to like it all. I chop veggies up pretty finely so he gets a good amount of those but sometimes he finds out a way to pick out the meat and avoid the veggies. All and all though he is much less picky than my merauke.

One weird thing tho, he seems to bite at random things sometimes. He bites at his water dish, at one of his hides, at the sliding doors in his tank, and when he's out roaming I've seen him bite at the remote controller and a beer can. I don't know if he's just not the smartest guy or what? I was thinking maybe he's teething? It sure is entertaining though!

LOL, u need to get that biting random things on tape! My little baby blotched has a things for shiny objects.. or nail polish... he tried eating my nail polish bottle, and then when my nails are painted he attempted to eat my nails. so im thinking no more nail polish for me if i want to keep my fingertips XD

I'm getting ready to head out to Hawaii for a week and I see this little guy hanging out in his water dish. Guess someone wants to come hang out on the beach with me!
