cant find pinky mice for Tasmania

Is there anyone that lives in Tasmania that knows places that sell frozen pinky mice?
I cant find anywhere and I have looked online and nowhere ships them to Tasmania, Australia that I can find. Does anyone know where online I could get them from?

Pinky mice should not be a staple for your skink. In fact, they are probably best left to being a very rare treat. They are high in calcium and low in nutrients. Stick to invert prey or dog food, don't worry about finding a pinky supplier in Tas.

You might need to get them from someine privately,a snake keeper,does tassie still have a herp society?if so,might be a good start to enquire about finding a local source,I also wouldnt reccomend pinkies as a staple diet,but nothing wrong with the odd pinky added here and there,blotchies do well on a dogfood diet,with or without veg added,pretty easy to find in your neck of the woods to

Ive never fed pinky mice to my skinks yet, I was getting them frozen just for treats every few weeks or so. I keep them on dog food, veggies (often get spat out XD) and fruit and egg here and there. Oh and the odd snail. But mostly dog food.

We still have a herp group, but the main guy that they always direct you to is ALWAYS unreachable which is very frustrating. then when you do reach him to arrange something, it never happens.

perhaps dubia roaches might be better than pinky mice? I have found one place that will send them down here.

haha, well im thinking about it. people have said they are better for them than pinky mice and snails :S

I can only find dubias maybe I just suck at googling :S or i should just stick to snails. I know people on here said snails should only be a rare treat, but my herp vet said not to worry about it (his words exactly) said thats mainly what they feed on in Tasmania and they are good for younger ones anyway. so maybe I should stick to them

Snails are fine to feed them,id say alot better the roaches and pinkies to,just be sure they arent poisoned by snail baits

ah, might stick to snails then! Im thinking of breeding snails XD considering its so easy and all. That way I dont have to worry about running around after its been raining and having to keep them in a container for a while before feeding (so i know they arent poisoned)
