Some more pictures of my new Merauke!

I let her settle in for a good week or so and now shes coming out and basking and exploring her cage, still a little timid, if she sees me she will slowly backtrack into whatever hide she just came from but when I take her out, theres no peeing, hissing, wiggling or trying to get away. Shes very calm and will take food from my fingers.
I was told she is a suspected female, anyway to judge by the above head photo?

Can't really tell from a head shot. The experts might be able to tell from a birds eye view photo of the whole body. The base of the tail sometimes is a give away...

can people really tell from a photo? Ive always had to be told from a vet or the obvious male sign left around the tank here and there when older..
from what age can people tell if its male or female from a picture?

Very nice looking example of its species,id lean towards male,only be ase it looks like it has hemipenal buldging,but hard to tell if pics decieving me,solid deepish head as well,im just guessing,wouldnt bet my house on it

I'll take some overhead shots of the whole body and some vent area shots as well..... Im hoping female... I was told female but I know that they are hard to determine sex... I just don't want to have to change her name, lol Its Lacey.... pretty sure thats not gender neutral.

My new baby is named Crowley, but then when i went to the vet he "guesses" (due to being difficult as a baby to tell) its a female. but i still call her Crowley

It depends...it's not always the same since each bluey is diff. From only a few months old I thought mine looked like a male and confirmed when I saw hemipenes once while he went to the bathroom. Some signs of male are head shape, body shape, tail length and sometimes you can see little hemipene bulges near vent area

People can tell, once a while back there was a little game of guess the gender on here with confirmed ones where people who didn't know would guess. It's cool looking and getting it right

The vet had a little poke around (looks quite unpleasant for poor little Crowley) and he said he would guess it was female but unsure at such a young age. But then the person I got him/her off thought it was male :s

Yea when very young it's hard.
I'd be curious to see pics in the future though.

Eh, it doesn't matter a whole lot. I mean there are men named Ashley, Gillian, Jackie, Lesley, etc.

Or if you want a more masculine name if it turns out to be a boy you can always change Lacey to something similar like Lance.
