BTS became aggressive outdoors

Hi all, my girlfriend and I took our BTS (merauke) outside and let him run in the grass for the first time ever (he is a little over a year old). At one point he actually went over to my gf and began striking at her and then hid underneath her. Later on I slid my foot over towards him and he began striking at it. He has never tried to bite us before and I'm just a little confused why all of a sudden he would get like that. Maybe most confusing was that he actually went over to my girlfriend and began striking at her. If he was scared you would think he wouldn't go over to her in the first place. Any thoughts on all of this?

Skinks seem to revert to a more wild personality when taken outside. All those instincts come right back up and you get a very different skink. With experience they do remain more themselves, but it's always interesting to see how they'll react when out in the sun.

yeah they definatly can revert back to there instinctual behaviour when taken outdoors.. sounds like you had your hands full :lol: although mine always seem to just bluff never has acutually approached and snapped at me very interesting
