Re: New to the forum
I have been reading the care guide, It is what lead me to the forum =) I cross reference every thing I read on the net... to make sure it was accurate, I was so pleased that I can use Merrick canned food as a treat... it is what I give my dog some times because he is on a raw diet because of the protein content, and I like to give him extras lol. Pretty sure he is an Eastern BTS, pics at the end! Pretty sure its a boy... but not 100% and the breeder said probable so still a 50/50 shot lol. He was born on St. Patrick's day so he is only 2 months old. This is a list of all the foods I have gotten for him...
Repcal Beardie food
Merrick Canned cat food, (quail/chicken, and Turkey)
Beef and chicken in broth baby food
bananas
Squash
Green leaf, romaine, and mustard greens
We breed the dubias and DIscoid roaches and mice, we ALWAYS have Superworms, butterworms and mealworms (mealies are mainly for the Leopard Geckos)
Here is a bit of what other reptiles we have
4 Bearded Dragons
3 Albino Pine snakes
3 Jackson's Chameleons
AND 2 Leopard Geckos
We are DEFINITELY not new to reptiles =)
Anyway, Here are the pics

Here he is in his deli cup at the show.

First time outside =)

An australian species born in March in the US? I thought you could only get import babies until July/August?

Re: New to the forum
march is later than wild northerns drop bubs, and depending on where u live,u can manipulate them to breed when ever u like, march is early in the usa for them, but again, depending on how they are cycled, and where they are kept, its quite normal to see them breed and have babies all over the shop,i can assure you its not all may/june over there
a classic example is colin hamilton and his outdoors kept blotchies, even scott with his blotchies, alot of which came from colin then mine,a couple i got from scott which i think are from colins stock as well, colins in sydney, scott inland central victoria and im on the south coast of victoria, our animals are housed outdoors and breed and drop babies all at different times, colins had babies some years when mine have just mated, december, scotts from memory have babies in feb and mine make me wait till late march at the earliest, sometimes well into april
most tropical species naturally have babies around december, after dry season matings, giving the babies the wet season to have a chance of surviving
in captivity they can have babies all over the shop depending on how temps are manipulated, hence why southern hemispher animals adapt and breed in the northern hemisphere season
sorry for the blab,lol
welcome to the forum, thats a nice looking young northern bluetongue you have, they are a subspecies of the eastern

Re: New to the forum
my northerns were born in mid feb this season, lateish for northerns, but it was because its colder where i live, and how i cycled them resulted in august matings, ifu have the conditions, its quite easy to cycle them at anytime of the year,so they can have babies alot sooner than most
