Baby Alpine Blotched Self Indulgence
Here are a couple of photos from some of Liz's babies from this year. There is another one or two floating around that I haven't been able to catch yet.
Not sure what I'm doing with them yet.

My whole backyard is so overgrown there could be a dozen blotchies there and I wouldn't find them. We haven't had a dry weekend since about last October.
Two weeks ago we had a full grown Red-bellied Black in the yard. It's the first I've known to come into the yard, mostly we get Copperheads.

I don't see many except those born on our property and they are usually from mid March to early April. They must brumate very soon after birth as by that time the weather is really changing to low teens maximum and overnight well into single figures.

Re: Baby Alpine Self Indulgence
thanks mate, similar to my captives, guess alot depends on spring temps and how long till its at the right temp s to start mating, this season my lot started in early oct, last season it was 2nd of december, was a poxy spring, more like an extended winter, lol, babies were very late, had to bring females in to have babies, and to put condition back on them,as the rest had already slowed right down on feeding
amazingly, they would probably still be fine going into brumation like that, even the babies, let them do it before but took a couple of seasons to regain condition,so i like to keep them inside for a bit now if they are gravid going into april, can usually return them outside when conditions been put back on so they can brumate out there, the plus of them brumating for 5 odd months here i guess, lol

Are there breeders of Blotchies in the States? These would really make any owner grin.
