Tell the truth:)

I use both cat and dog food as well as eggs. My skiners don't/woun't touch insects for some reason.

Re: What type of meat do you use?
my skink's favorite is ground turkey breast, but i mix up ground lean beef and ground chicken breast every once in a while just to keep the variety. my skink isn't a huge fan of cat food so once i run out i probably won't try it for a while. it's unfortunate b/c that would be the easiest :/

Sometimes, and most times, owning a reptile isn't easy and it is good not to take the easy way out

Re: What type of meat do you use?
I use all of those except "Anything that is off the shelf and cheap".
For protein, I probably feed dog food about 70% of the time. Various kinds. I use lean meats (chicken, turkey, beef etc) about 10% of the time, egg (raw, cooked etc) on occasion, cat food on occasion, and various feeders on occasion. I feed whatever is convenient and healthy, and try to give quite a bit of variety. Dog food is definitely the staple, but if we are having chicken I'll usually give them some (as long as it isn't processed / seasoned), and quite often I get mini chicken eggs so they get those raw every couple weeks as a treat. Some love the raw egg, some seem to just like cracking them and making a mess but not eating much. I enjoy feeding dew worms, silk worms, horn worms etc.
There is no need to feed anything but dog food, although I enjoy offering variety. If you had to pick just one, I'd definitely say dog food (and I still use it as a staple), but don't be afraid to offer other stuff. Just make sure any meats aren't processed - no packaged or deli type meats, just plain chicken breast or plain cuts of beef etc. Liver is also very healthy and you can often get it cheap.
Just remember - lean meats have a poor Ca:P ratio, so definitely supplement calcium if you are feeding lots of muscle meat.

Re: What type of meat do you use?
i feed dogfood mainly, sometimes catfood. when the can runs out i give insects every other time it does.
we dont eat egg much at home, but since theyre salmonella checked i do not worry much about giving them half raw (which is how most eggs i cook end up)
hmmm.....ive fed chicken that does not come out of a dogfood-can quite a few times now, and since we eat a lot of different meat (wild-type, lamb, cow/ox, pig etc.) there are always leftovers that are never seasoned that i can heat and give him. i tend to moderate the amount when i give small pieces of the wild-type.
thats pretty much it....
i dont feed too cheap stuff. i pick more expensive veggies when i find them, and more expensive salad. i buy middle cheap dog food since i think its got the best mix. i have lots of fun preparing skink meals xD and as long as i dont mix in fruits or catfood/dogfood theyre pretty good salad meals for myself....
i second what katrina said, liver is great. but so are other intestines in moderate amounts
(not sure about kidney and brain, its never for sale here but i see it a lot in spain)

Right now I'm using wet cat food, although I sometimes use dog food. I also didi "other" because on special we have real meat in the house(My family is vegetarian).
Tea cup LOVES cat food.

Re: What type of meat do you use?
I use mostly lizard and dog canned food, veggies and dry lizard pellets.
I also use fresh meats, eggs and meal worms occasionally.
They all seem to like a variety :-)

Re: What type of meat do you use?
I've done dog food and chicken. I tend to feed chicken because I can snag a piece when my husband makes dinner and we mostly eat chicken. I also periodically buy quail eggs at the Asian Market just for Mossie.

Re: What type of meat do you use?
I mostly use chicken. Once in a while I use cooked egg (Digger's favorite
) or hormworms. I used to feed him butterworms when he was younger but he seems to have lost interest in them. I would like to give him superworms also but he always chokes on them for some reason
