they both are my favorite reptiles at home. they had mating several times. and I hope that their mating successful..
but still, i dont know that the female one is pregnant or yet..
how do we know that bluetongue is pregnant?

theyre both very pretty - i especially like the colour of the lighter one.

are you keeping them together? if so, why?

im not good at breeding questions, but there was a recent thread about knowing if theyre pregnant or not. measure the weight over time! their weight will increase a bit every week until a certain stage.

no, they have a separate cage ..
if they are caged together, the male may bite the female ..

they are only together when they need to be photographed and when i let them sunbathing..

I was always calculating her weight..
before the melting, she was about 800gram..
but now, (-+ 4month after melting) she weights 1,2 kilograms.. :shock:

Gorgeous Meruakes, they are beautiful. It is very exciting having members from Indonesia - we don't have much accurate information on blue tongue skinks in the wild in Indonesia so we might be able to learn a lot from you!

If they mated successfully then chances are pretty good that the female is pregnant. There are some signs that would indicate that she is pregnant, but it isn't possible to be certain that she is pregnant until she actually has babies.

Edit to add - it has been 4 months since mating? Wow, that is a good weight gain. Have you noticed any heavy, labored breathing?

i live in java,there's no wild BTS here.. but i will help as far as i can..

the fact is, in the wild (jayapura and maluku),This lizard is feared by the locals..
very sad to know that these lizards were killed simply because a lot of misunderstanding ..
the locals believe that these lizards can be very deadly to humans ..

hm.. i haven't noticed any suspicious breathing like that..
but i will update immediately..

In your first photograph, which one is the female and which is the male?
Also, in your second photo, what is the skink eating?
