Nice skink. I think it is an Irian Jaya. What kind of green are you feeding? I am not sure what greens to feed since my skink does not like fruits and greens much. Banana is always eaten with gusto though.

Mine seem to prefer turnip greens to the others (collard, mustard and kale), she also likes butternut squash. I haven't tried other squashes yet. As far as fruit goes she eats raspberries, blueberries, papaya and mangoes.

That is Dandelion green from the yard, mixed in with some canned cat food. He'll eat anything if it smells like cat food. Never touches fruit though

Remember - "newer merauke" isn't a recognized species, same as IJ isn't. Different people will call this skink different names (or unrecognized locales / subspecies). Don't be quite so quick to say someone is wrong, as this is a fairly 'gray' area (although many would agree with you that it is Merauke but not the 'classic' look).

Gorgeous BTS Kendall!! :D

Josh - most blueys won't willingly eat greens so rather than looking for ones they like, just sneak the healthy ones into the food by chopping it finely and mixing it with something like dog food. The ones Kendall and Neith mentioned are great choices - dandelion, collards, mustard, turnip, arugula etc. :)

It is still not letting me upload anymore pictures. Not sure what I am doing wrong. I have lots more from this little photo shoot, surprised me he let me that close while he was eating so I want to share the pictures with people who will appreciate it.

kendall, i have some tips for uploading.

make sure you make the picture to the right size 750x400 or something( not so important to be exact), and have it in jpeg. that way it will be a quick upload and will work to upload more, since they dont take as much space.

second thing you can do is to make a deviantart/photobucket account, upload them there and then copy the image link, paste it here, and then click the "img" above so you have it like this:

You can try this thread -

http://bluetongueskinks.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17702

Like Lightchii said, up a file size is too large, it can time out whilst uploading. If you use Photobucket, theres also an option you can set the uploader too so as that every photo you upload from that point on will be of appropriate size.

Heres something I did up to help with that =D

If it still doesnt work, Ill do what I did for Nakerz and offer to put them up for you?
