red scales in Eastern

Postby vincenzoo » Mon May 14, 2007 1:25 am

Hello!
One of my eastern BTS female has a lot of scales wich are red or pink on the venter and the sides... It seems to be "under the scale" and start on the center of it... I tried to take photos but it's not good...
Is it normal or could it be a disease...?
4 eastern, 2 tanimbar (silver and yellow), 2 indonesian, 1 Irian jaya, 1 ornate box turtle, 1 painted wood turtle, 3 albert's turtles, 1 florida softshell turtle and flower beetles.
S'cuse me if my english is not good or not understand everything!

My Easterns have pink colouration around the vent area, which is normal.

However, for us to decide whether what you describe is normal or a problem, you will have to post photos.

we need photos.

It could be scale rot / blister disease.

In the meantime wiping the areas of concern with a Betadine solution will do no harm.
Geoff.
