Noses
Hi. I Currently have an Eastern named Rex. I was reading the caresheet and I saw the picture of the 'bowtie' nose. I was wondering whether Rex has a Bowtie nose aswell. (Rex also has a small hole? or something on its head).

It does look like a bowtie. Congratulations! It's a mutation that only 1 in 200 BTS (or 0.5%) have.
Here's a close-up head shot of one of my Easterns. The hole, do you mean this?
Triangulating back from the eyebrows, on the large central scale, there's a small circular dot, right in the middle of that scale. I can faintly see the same mark on your photo, even with the blurring. If it's that you mean, it's normal. If you look closely again at the "noses" section of the caresheet where you first saw the "bowtie nose", you'll see all three of the skinks in that section have it.
If it's something different, you will need a better shot that's not as blurry, and a description of where it is and how long he's had it.

Is the circular dot the "third eye" that they use to measure light intensity? I know iguanas have them, and I always assumed that's what the dot on Scout's head was, but I'm unclear on this in skinks.

Shingles get bow-ties too, my Santos has one
He also has a big third eye as you can see. I think he uses it to contact aliens in outta space. (Does 'third eye blind' mean the same thing over there as is does here? )

Yeah I know them, but it's also a slang term for something else here (like when someone's an idiot you call them an ___hole)
Just wondering if it's just an Aussie thing. Probly!
