I think it's the whole looking like a snake thing. I don't think Blueys look like snakes, but to someone with not alot of knowledge they look snake like and maybe that's what the fear is.

Yeah, I mean, aren't the two venomous lizards (Gila monster and that Mexican thing, right?) really small and not evil looking? I think blueys are so precious and cute, but then again, I think a nine-foot Burmese python is cute :edward:

My mom still calls Baby Mooch "Beast." It's funny, though. When Mooch is moving around her tank my mom yells out, "BEAST ON THE MOVE!" Whenever I put her on my mom (which I do often, especially when she's cold), my mom says over and over again, "Move your beast!!!" and "EWWW!" and "AHH!" It's actually very amusing :hehe:

We just had a person over who couldn't even look at the lizards because she thought they were so creepy! She apparently doesn't like anything with scales, even fish.

My mum thinks they look like snakes, that's why she isn't too fond of them, and she thinks water dragons look like velociraptors.

I wasn't offended... I just thought it was really odd. That would be like if I got offended every time someone on this forum said spiders were creepy ;)
