BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

I have kept Northerns for over a decade. But, I just got this really neat female Merauke as a rescue. I need a male juvie or adult.

So I ordered a baby Marauke through Underground Reptiles in Florida, USA.
Within an hour I get an email saying there is an issue saying to call them about a packing issue.
So I call and get a guy that does know about blue tongues, but they are sold out now.

The ad on Fauna was up for less than a day. The guy tells me they have more coming this week and that they have a pending list.
So, I have them keep the money I sent through my credit card. This is a big company and I am gambling on their professional reputation.

More to come. I will take a video of the unpacking when it comes, and post to YouTube. I will include the link here.

I am really anxious to get the new lizard. The BTS was listed at $199.99 ($239.99 shipped).

I called yesterday, I am still on the pending list.
Underground Reptiles is expecting to acquire some Maraukes this weekend, I was told.

I have had favorable contacts with them, but they are just not able to get the skinks they advertised.

I can guess, but I wouldn't bet on it.

I got a email to call.... My baby Marauke will be shipped today and arrive tomorrow.
Underground Reptiles has provided good service.

I spoke to Manny in shipping. He knows blue tongues and has experience with them.

I will post again tomorrow when I unpack the bluey.

Here are the facts.... I will post a link to a youtube video and a pic tomorrow.
I got the Marauke it is in good health. Legs work fine, complete tail and all toes, Eyes responsive and clear, no nasal discharge, tongue flicking in response to smells, holding it's head up and responding to environment.
The packaging and shipping were professionally done by experienced people. The temperatures were in the 50s and 60s so a heated stone was packed in the bottom of the box. The price was reasonable and the same as I have seen them here locally in Southern California. It was shipped UPS overnight air from Deerfield Beach, Florida.
As stated above and I had several conversations with the staff of Underground Reptiles (Manny in particular). He knew blue tongues and has bred them himself. He has a great attitude and explained the process and the popularity of blue tongues here in the U.S.
I will use them again, and I will recommend them to other herpetoculturalists (reptile breeders).

Underground Reptiles gets a grade A from me!

As posted above I got very good results from Underground Reptiles in Deerfield Beach, Florida.

I am posting a very amateur youtube video I took when I first unpacked the Marauke Blue Tongue Skink.
I apologize for the poor quality of the video. I used my Iphone and at times wedged it under my chin. I was
wearing a black t shirt so there a a few seconds of black when I moved my head. There was a heat stone
that was still warm in the bottom of the box, you may notice when I remove it.

I was also very excited.

I would not hesitate to buy from Underground Reptiles again if I could not find it locally.
