breeders within reasonable driving distance?

Postby boonaen » Thu Jul 05, 2007 10:05 pm

so - because i have a new truck and would rather spend $60 on gas and a good family drive than shipping...

are there any breeders in or near the mid-south? N.E. Arkansas / S.E. Missouri / Memphis, TN?

if so, i'd love to drive to you and see the skinks in person!

Golly, I think you might be ess-oh-ell. :( You're living in what we call, the "Great Bluey Void."

I have to agree with Kyle, but I say you take a nice family drive down to Florida and visit Ray! ;) Many of us can tell you that you can really trust and rely on the babies you get shipped from Zach, Ray and Andrew.

But at least they're the FUN kind of crazy, and not "The cat won't stop talking to me" kind.

I can tell you where to find a Texas breeder who has wormy skinks that are housed with too many bunkmates! I found out the hard way that it is easier (and ultimately cheaper) to get a bluey from a more reputable source. My new baby is coming from Zach.
Incidentally, have you ever dealt with a purebred dog breeder? The good ones are usually a little "out there. " So, you have to figure anyone patient enough to breed skinks would have to be "special." Oh, and I only mean "special" in the nicest way! :TQlaughing@zach:
Sarcasm aside, realize these skinks can live 20 years or more (if they are healthy and well cared for.) I can buy another skink down the road for $75 but there is no guarantee. Want to know why there is no guarantee? Let's just say that you get what you pay for! If I hadn't gotten veterinary attention for my bluey, I can guarantee he would have never lived 20 years. Thankfully he had something treatable. No roulette for me this time.
