Kei Kei!!!
I have been envious of Jeanne and Don ever since they picked up Kei Kei and when they sold her I was broken hearted. Fortunately, I got a second chance and now Kei Kei is all mine!
She arrived this morning a little after 11am. She was a bit sluggish and quite a bit huffy. I got her out of her box and checked her over and then put her in her temp tank to acclimate for a while. Once she's through her initial quarantine, she'll go into the condo next to Sprout (Tarz's old house) so he can whisper sweet nothings through the divider until next Spring. Fingers crossed she's a girl!
Anyway...here are a few pics of her getting used to her new home. I didn't want to bug her too much, but I knew you guys would torture me if I didn't post pics.
Who are you, where am I, and what do you want?
that flashing light is mildly intriguing
I guess I'll say 'hi'
a decent shot of her color:

Wow!! Renee she is beautiful!! If there are kei babies next year, I'm putting my hand up for one NOW! I wanna come cuddle her once she's settled in.
Tarz update, definately in a bad mood today (not to steal your thread). Lunged at my hand a few times before I decided that a towel was a better approach to getting him out of the cage, then he settled right down. He rode around on my shoulder while I did some chores. I'm gonna try again later for a more successful removal from the cage.

I wonder if Tarz is headed into shed...when we got him out the other day I couldn't be sure. He's so light that a change in color is hardly noticed. He definitely gets grumpier when in shed mode.

I've been waiting for this thread!
I've drooled over KeiKei for quite some time; I'm thrilled he's come to a place where I can see him personally.

Zach...we're calling Kei Kei a GIRL! We want Kei Kei to be a GIRL! Don't say 'he'

I was wondering about their disposition as well, so I looked on the main page and read the info from James Wilson.... "It's personality is similar to the WC Tanimbar or the T. g. gigas forms from Ambon or Ceram" (paraphrased)
After looking at more pics, they seem to be closer in coloration and pattern to my favored Broome Northern... in my eyes, anyhow...
Just beautiful!

Keis are known to be fiesty as most of the gigas skinks have a flighty temperment. Kei Kei is just huffy though and Sprout has his moments. Sprout is flighty and huffy, but not bitey unless your fingers are too close to his food.
Most keis will be pretty fiesty to mean as
most are wild caught. Hopefully Jenn and I can produce some CB babies next year and change that though.

I sure hope you guys are successful in your CBB attempts... I want a Kei, too

Can I be your first customer?
