BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

I'm working on reserching Quigly's background a bit, I bought him at petco and they are calling their vendor Lasco, Inc out of Illinois has anyone heard of them?
I was also informed that it is Petco policy and possibly Federal law to have access to complete records of all their pets origin, age, sex if possible, exact species, and certain other records. Thus far I have also been told that most likly quigly was captive bred as most of their herps are unless that species is not bred in captivity.


Any thoughts anyone?
After talking to you all I wanted more exact info about him so I started digging today.

Petsmart in NY gets them from LASCO as well. other than that, don't know anything.

LASCO is one of three distributors that compete for business with PetCo and PetSmart, and probably other pet store chains.

There is no law stating every individual animal has a "history," as with loss and transportation this would be nearly impossible. They have records stating where a group of animals come from, and try to get that information to individual stores, but it's usually paperwork that doesn't get done.

LASCO does deal with breeders of certain reptiles, but the are usually not blue-tongued skinks. There is not enough interest or large enough scale breeders to provide LASCO with the product to distribute to such stores.

Assume any blue tongue in a large retail chain store is wild caught, unless it is a true Northern or Eastern Australian species.

The Petco guy called today he says he called Lasco and no one answered the two phone lines he has to contact them he left messages but hasn't heard back yet he says he will try again tommorrow.

Funny that scenario happened for about five weeks, until they told me they "...didn't know what to tell me..." Something about paperwork, over a month ago... etc...

He was captive bred in the U.S.
and His Birthdate is December 10th 2006

Based on your pics, they're wrong on the species obviously.
Not an Eastern. Who knows about the rest?

He's definitely not T. scincoides scincoides; that is an Eastern as pointed out. Your's is an IJ.

I'm amazed they even gave you that information; wonder if it's correct -- it's certainly possible that he was born from a wild caught mother. I'm just dumbfounded that someone would actually record the date of birth....wonder if it's true or did they just spout a quick & easy answer/solution to the posed questions.

they said the info is not usually available but it just so happens that there were only two BTS sent to my petco (it's only been open a couple months) and both were from the same birthing Quigly's bro/sis was bought by a girl that works there.
As for the sp. I'm not overly worried on it because I don't intend to breed him my main concern was where he came from and they were quite certain he was Captive bred in the U.S. and of his birthdate though I'm thinking of pushing for the breeders name.
