It's been a while!

Hello Everyone,
It has been a LONG time since I have been on here and have since gave back my Wild Caught BTS to the store I got it from. I can't remeber the type if it was an eastern, northern..ect. But it hissed everytime I went to handle it, rarley ate, ALWAYS hid, wasn't growing like he/she should of, and the time of the year and the fact that he was a baby led me to believe he was WC.
Anyways, as a young herper I had the habit of impule buying...I have since cut down on my collection and am starting to build it the RIGHT WAY! All I have at the moment is a Ball python, Bearded Dragon, Borneo short-tail python and am on a payment plan for a GTP. It's amazing how much better I have gotten about husbandry. Well in 3-4 months I would like to get a nice CBB BTS and start things off on the right foot!! These are amazing animals and I really want a good chance to care and love one! Right now I have my Borneo STP in a 36Lx24Dx12H animal plastics T3 and when he outgrows it would like to set-up a BTS in it. Is this to small of an enclosure?
Thanks everyone and glad to be back!

Tank size sounds pretty good. The tanks I'm currently building are 48Lx24Dx12H, but it'll also be dividable for younger skinks. Look out for baby skinks, as they've just begun popping, so there will be some amazing little ones being sold by forum members. Good of you to be improving your husbandry!

If it was WC from a pet store, it would have been one of the south-east Asian varieties. Easterns, Northerns, and other Australian varieties are difficult to get in the USA because of Australia's tight fauna export laws. Pet stores find it much cheaper to just buy WC skinks from Indonesia, which has much laxer legislation.
The most common skink I've seen people show on here that's pet store bought is IJ. IJs are often passed off as Eastern because of similarities in patterning, but the difference is discernible to someone experienced in identifying BTS (like people on this forum!).
Good luck on finding a great captive born baby! Two of Ray's Tanimbars have just had babies, and Zach's certain at least one of his females is gravid. Also, Cisnell's new Indonesian BTS Beauty is presumed to be gravid too. She was WC, but housed with an Indonesian male at the pet store Cisnell worked for, and consequently impregnated before Cisnell bought her. I am unsure what she's planning on doing with the babies, but I presume she'd advertise on here if she's planning to sell them.

Thanks everyone!! Yeah I believe it was an eastern. Absolutley did not like people...ran and hide everytime I would come in the room and the look in his eyes just looked like he came straight from the wild.
Glad to be back and am going to be doing some serious reading on here. And asking questions.
Thanks everyone.

Just found my previous posts and everyone seemed to agree that it was a WC Indo.

Yeah you're coming back into the market for a skink when the babies are all going to be available and choice animals to choose from this year I might add.

Nah, I'm sticking with my few and proud. Unless, as I've said, Peach or Pearl come out with some babies that look like them, that'll be tempting...

Umm, Andrew Seike's web site says he has some year-old northerns (caramel i think) for sale. They were apparently brumated over the winter so they're now up and growing fast. I believe those are $250 because of how boo-ti-fal they are. Dunno bout other ppl.
...And I just realized I go on Andrews site waayyy too often -.-' Can't wait for the baby skinks!
